With the Red Wings’ season concluded, Detroit has sent eight players to Grand Rapids.

Forwards Christoffer Ehn, Matt Puempel and Dominic Turgeon have all been returned to the Griffins, as have defensemen Jake Chelios, Joe Hicketts, Filip Hronek and Dylan McIlrath.

The Griffins are one point away from clinching their spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs – on Wednesday, they host the Iowa Wild in their penultimate home game of the regular season.

Grand Rapids is currently second in the Central Division with a record of 38-24-7-4. They have a four point lead on third-place Milwaukee. If the regular-season ended today, the Griffins would host the Admirals in the first round of the playoffs.

The AHL regular season concludes on Sunday, April 14.
