Game 4 win gives Spirit 3-1 series lead heading back to Saginaw

By @StefanKubus –

The Saginaw Spirit are one game away from reaching another franchise milestone: the OHL Finals.

The Spirit bounced back from a Game 3 loss and took a 4-1 decision in Game 4 led by a two-goal performance from Cole Perfetti and a 36-save outing from Tristan Lennox. Saginaw also had goals from Reagan O’Grady, his third of the postseason, and Owen Tippett potted his team-leading and league-leading 11th.

“The past couple games we’ve been struggling to get shots toward the net and that was one of our goals this game,” Tippett said. “We sent more pucks to the net and some of them found their way in.”

Despite losing goaltender Ivan Prosvetov and forward Justin Murray to suspensions following Game 2, the Spirit went 1-1 on the road in Guelph to bring the series to 3-1 in their favor.

Saginaw will have a chance to close out the Storm Friday night at the Dow Event Center.
