Two Michigan natives are coming home to suit up for one of the USHL’s top teams.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks have acquired Max Ellis and Declan Carlile in a trade with the Lincoln Stars.

Pinckney native and Western Michigan commit Hunter Skinner will be on his way to Lincoln in the deal, as will Minnesota native Brock Bremer and a few Muskegon draft picks.

Ellis, a Canton native and Notre Dame commit, has 20 points on the season. He started with the Central Illinois Flying Aces before being traded to Lincoln earlier this season.

Carlile, a Hartland native and Merrimack commit, has 14 points from the blue line as a USHL rookie. Last year, he won an OJHL championship with the Wellington Dukes.

Muskegon is currently in first place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference with a 25-7-1-0 record. The Lumberjacks’ 51 points is one away from the top spot in the entire league, as the Tri-City Storm have one more point from one shootout loss. They have played one more game than the ‘Jacks, as well.

“Declan and Max will add to Muskegon’s already powerful lineup,” said Lincoln general manager Jon Hull in the trade announcement. “We appreciate their efforts here in Lincoln and wish them both well.”
