Honeybaked ’04 wins International Silver Stick title in Port Huron (with photos)

The Honeybaked ’04 squad beat rival Little Caesars Sunday morning in Port Huron to secure a spot in the championship game of the 57th Silver Stick Finals. There, the HB boys took on one of the few teams that had beat them earlier in the season, and Honeybaked found some revenge. On a five-point first-period effort from Rutger McGroarty, the HB boys raced out to a big lead in the first period, before eventually winning the prestigious tournament title with an 8-2 victory. McGroarty was named Tournament MVP after registering six goals and two assists in the win. Goaltender Cameron Kopri and defenseman Lane Hutson joined McGroarty on the All-Tournament Team list.
