Michigan Tech announces Copper Country Strong game

By @MichaelCaples –

On Nov. 23, Michigan Tech will be hosting a ‘Copper Country Strong’ game to support their community.

The Huskies will wear special jerseys and host a silent auction during the game to sell said jerseys – all in an effort to raise money for the Portage Health Foundation’s Flood With Love initiative.

Fans will be able to bid in-person at the game or online through the Michigan Tech Hockey Facebook page.

More information about the game can be found in the Michigan Tech release.

You can see the special jerseys in the video below, as modeled by MTU goaltender and Hancock native Devin Kero. The jersey displayed has the name ‘Thatcher’ on the back – Kero lost his cousin, Thatcher Markham, in Cooper Country’s horrible flooding in June.
