Drew Miller to try out for Blackhawks

Drew Miller’s heading into an enemy territory in the hopes of continuing his NHL career.

The Lansing native will be at the Chicago Blackhawks’ training camp, thanks to a professional tryout offer from the Original Six franchise.

Miller, 33, spent the last eight seasons with his hometown Detroit Red Wings; last season, he was assigned to Grand Rapids and played in seven games with the Griffins.

A Michigan State alum, Miller has 62 goals and 60 assists in 571 NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks, Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit.
