The Detroit Red Wings have secured one of the key players involved in the Griffins’ AHL title.

Today, the Wings announced that they have signed forward Ben Street to a one-year extension.

Street, 30, signed with the Wings last off-season, and he spent the majority of the season with the Griffins. There, he recorded 55 points and a team-best 25 goals.

His 21 points in 19 postseason games were second-best on the Griffins’ Calder Cup championship roster.

A native of Coquitlam, B.C., Street appeared in six games with the Red Wings in 2016-17. He recorded an assist in his Wings debut on March 28.

Street is a Wisconsin Badgers alum.
