Alec Calvaruso isn’t done touring the country for his hockey career.

The Detroit Catholic Central product is currently stopping pucks just outside of Dallas, Texas.

Soon, the goaltender will be doing the same just south of Denver, Colorado.

Calvaruso, a Livonia native, has verbally committed to Colorado College for his college hockey career after he’s done with the Lone Star Brahmas of the NAHL.

“I picked Colorado College because they present a great goalie situation for me to go into and also a very supportive environment,” Calvaruso told MiHockey. “If there was one conference in Division 1 hockey that I could play in it would be the NCHC, and now I am lucky enough to do that.”

Last year, Calvaruso backstopped his Catholic Central Shamrocks to the school’s third-straight Division 1 state title.

This season, he holds a .916 save percentage and 2.03 goals-against average in 19 appearances with Lone Star.

“My goal has always been to get a great college education and Colorado College’s academics are more than what I could ever dream of,” Calvaruso said. “I am very excited to go to Colorado College because of the amazing outdoor environment that surrounds campus and all of the opportunities that will come from this.”
