He scored his first USHL goal a few days ago.

Now he can cross another major hockey moment off his bucket list.

Ronnie Attard announced today that he has verbally committed to Western Michigan University for his upcoming college hockey career.

The White Lake native – who has played in eight games with the USHL’s Tri-City Storm this year – told MiHockey that he picked the Broncos due to the connection he felt with the Kalamazoo-based program.

“I picked Western because It felt like a right fit for me,” Attard said. “Loved the campus and facilities that they have there.”

The Honeybaked and Victory Honda product – he served as captain for the VH midget minor squad that won states last year – likes that his college program is close to home, as well.

“Another reason is that it’s close to home so my family will be able to watch me; lastly they have an outstanding coaching staff that I can’t wait to get started with,” Attard said. “It’s always been a dream to play Division 1 so I’m really excited it’s finally coming true.”
