Red Wings tour Little Caesars Arena

Today, the Detroit Red Wings players and coaches went on a tour of Little Caesars Arena. Check out the photos below for a sneak peek of the construction progress for the new building.

Some new construction updates:

  • The arena’s structural steel frame is nearly complete, with 7,528 pieces erected out of a total of 7,566
  • The arena precast concrete is almost finalized; 632 pieces of a total 760 erected
  • Concrete for the Piazza, which is being constructed on metal decking above the practice sheet of ice, is complete
  • The practice facility is almost compete
  • The Via – a covered atrium that will provide a year-round walkway for pedestrians on the east and south sides of the arena – is being constructed between the arena and Woodward Avenue and Henry Street buildings
  • Instillation of the jewel skin – which will display videos and graphics – that wraps around the Via is underway
