Easton has released a blast from the past with its latest hockey stick the Synergy HTX.

Hockey was revolutionized by Easton’s one-piece original Synergy stick and the franchise has once again tapped into that gold mine by bringing back the same name, but an even better stick.

“There’s such great heritage with the Synergy name,” Easton’s Mike Mountain said. “We felt that it had some length in the market place and we wanted to get that out there.”

The new Synergy HTX kept some of its old traditional aspects like its chrome color, and upgraded in other areas, such as its ‘Hypertuned Technology’ in the blade. Mountain said the ‘Synergy’ name actually speaks to the connection between the shaft and the blade, as Easton put a big focus on creating a blade that matches to each particular stick flex for a more consistent and powerful shot.

“It’s the same construction throughout that we call stiffness rods that are different structures placed inside the blade that has varying stiffness’s and angles to create a more extreme stiffness for that specific flex,” Mountain said.

Easton also put a spotlight on creating plenty of options for players to have the perfect stick. Mountain said Easton went about adding more stiffness, grip and most flex options so anyone can find the right stick for their game.

The flex options range from as low as 50 and all the way up to 100, with each blade adjusted to match the flex. Mountain said Easton even added a new 60 flex stick so those who are transitioning out of the 50 flex don’t have to jump all the way to 65 right away.

The senior model of the stick weighs in at only 430 grams, but Mountain reassures the product is very durable. Creating a stick that wouldn’t snap on a one-timer in the slot was another area of importance for the group.

“The shaft went through a complete redesign focusing on wall thickness and energy transfer that impacts strength,” Mountain said. “The Synergy has a higher thickness then our previous models…to add a level of durability.”

Mountain added that the stick does have a standard 30-day warranty if it does happen to break or snap in that time frame.

Overall, the technology behind the correlation of blade stiffness and flex creates what Mountain believes is a world class stick and provides a better shot.

“(It) creates a more powerful shot and there’s better feel for the stick,” Mountain said. “The Synergy has always been known for a great feel for the puck and so that’s what we went after with this one.”

The new Synergy HTX was released earlier this month and now can be found on the racks at your local hockey store or online.
