It was a good weekend for Lake Superior State, and it’s continuing into Monday.

Today, the WCHA announced its players of the week list, and three of the four spots are going to LSSU players.

Hometown product Ashton Calder has been named the conference’s forward of the week, after the Sault Ste. Marie native posted five points in his team’s two-game sweep of in-state rival Ferris State. Calder recorded two goals in Friday night’s 5-4 win, and then added three assists in Saturday’s 4-3 victory.

The sophomore is tied for the team lead with 11 points in 10 games.

Captain Collon Saccoman was named the defenseman of the week after registering four points in the series. The Stillwater, Minn., native recorded a goal and an assist on Friday and two power-play goals on Saturday.

Rookie of the week honors went to Louis Boudon. The freshman forward – a native of Grenoble, France – also recorded four points on the weekend. Boudon posted one assist on Friday before registering three points in Saturday’s victory for LSSU.

Alaska senior Anton Martinsson was named the goaltender of the week.
