On the heels of the Givani Smith recall, Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill announced a trio of injuries.

Luke Glendening will be out two to four weeks after he left Wednesday’s game against Ottawa during the second period with an upper-body injury. The Grand Rapids native has picked up two goals and one assist in ten games thus far.

Fellow forward Justin Abdelkader is day-to-day, and defenseman Danny DeKeyser is out at least two weeks. Abdelkader has posted three helpers in his first ten games, while DeKeyser had recorded four assists in his first eight games from the back end.

Abdelkader, who skated in career game No. 700 Wednesday, joins Adam Erne is another forward who is also day-to-day and could potentially return Sunday against St. Louis.

The Red Wings host the 8-2-1, Eastern Conference-leading Buffalo Sabres at Little Caesars Arena Friday night.
