Red Wings announce series of recalls, four placed on injured reserve

UPDATE, 2:30 p.m.: The Red Wings have already returned Ryan Kuffner and Oliwer Kaski to the Griffins, and removed Andreas Athanasiou from injured reserve. Evgeny Svechnikov and Alex Biega remain in Detroit.

The roster moves are already underway for the Red Wings.

Just a day after their home opener, the Wings announce four call-ups and four players placed on injured reserve.

Andreas Athanasiou has been placed on IR, retroactive to Sept. 20. Frans Nielsen, Trevor Daley and Jonathan Ericsson officially join him on the injured list.

Ryan Kuffner, Evgeny Svechnikov, Oliwer Kaski and newcomer Alex Biega have been recalled from the AHL to fill the vacancies.
