Four goals in one game, three points in the next.

That’s certainly enough to make you USHL forward of the week.

Muskegon Lumberjacks forward and Grosse Pointe native Oliver MacDonald earned said recognition today, as the USHL recognized his impressive weekend against the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.

MacDonald, a Nebraska Omaha commit, racked up four goals in Friday’s 8-1 win in Plymouth, then chipped in three points in his team’s home win at L.C. Walker Arena the next night. He was a +6 on the weekend, as he helped Muskegon to the team’s first two wins of the season.

This year, MacDonald has nine points in six games for the ‘Jacks.

Stein named top goalie

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies alum and Ferris State commit Logan Stein was celebrated by the USHL today, as well, after a big weekend between the pipes for the Waterloo Black Hawks.

Stein made his first two appearances of the season on Friday and Saturday, and he won them both. On Friday, he entered in relief and led the Black Hawks to a comeback victory with 18 saves on 19 shots.

On Saturday, he posted a 26-save shutout against the Tri-City Storm.

He posted a 0.56 goals-against average and .978 save percentage on the weekend.
