The Spirit hosted in-state rival Flint for Saginaw’s 2019 home opener on Saturday, Sept. 21. In the first edition of the 2019-2020 battle for the I-75 Divide Cup, the Firebirds spoiled the party, as Flint recorded a 4-1 win after watching the Spirit raise a OHL conference championship banner to the rafters during a pre-game ceremony.
