PHOTOS: Red Wings beat Blackhawks in preseason opener

On Tuesday evening, the Red Wings kicked off their 2019 preseason schedule with a 5-3 win over Original Six rival Chicago at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Matt Puempel, Matthew Ford, Chris Terry, Michael Rasmussen and Luke Glendening all scored for the Wings, while Jimmy Howard (seven saves, one goal allowed) and newcomer Calvin Pickard (17 saves, two goals allowed) split time between the pipes.
