World Junior Summer Showcase ticket information announced

By @MichaelCaples –

We’re not telling you how to spend your last week of July, but…the World Junior Summer Showcase is coming back to Plymouth.

The annual event features some of the best young players in the world competing for spots with their country’s World Junior teams.

Finland, Sweden, Canada and the U.S. will all be bringing teams of top Under-20 players to USA Hockey Arena for the 2019 WJSS, which takes place July 26 through Aug. 3.

The WJSS functions as each country’s first step in assembling their World Junior teams; the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship is set for Dec. 26 through Jan. 5, 2019 in the Czech Republic.

Twenty-two of the 44 players invited by USA Hockey are products of the Plymouth-based National Team Development Program. Michigan natives Drew DeRidder, Christian Krygier, Alec Regula, Bode Wilde, Johnny Gruden and Blade Jenkins have all received invites, as have notable Michigan names Alex Turcotte (NTDP/Honeybaked alum), Arthur Kaliyev (Compuware/Little Caesars alum), John Beecher (NTDP alum, Michigan commit), Cam York (NTDP alum, Michigan commit) and Mattias Samuelsson (NTDP alum, Western Michigan defenseman).

Ticket info can be found here.
