NHL Draft: Josh Nodler selected by Calgary Flames

Josh Nodler’s got some new summer plans.

Aside from settling in at Michigan State, the Oak Park native will be making a trip out to Calgary.

The incoming Spartan freshman forward was selected in the fifth round by the Calgary Flames at the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver.

Nodler was a rookie forward with the USHL’s Fargo Force in 2018-19, and he racked up 42 points in 54 games.

The Spartans coaching staff saw enough to request his services next fall in East Lansing; the Flames saw enough to claim the Honeybaked product at No. 150 overall.
