The Detroit Red Wings have added one of their goaltending prospects to the pro ranks.

The Wings announced the signing of goalie Filip Larsson to a three-year, entry-level deal, beginning in the 2019-20 season.

Larsson, 20, posted a 13-6-3 record, a .932 save percentage and 1.95 goals-against average with the University of Denver this season as a freshman. He helped lift the Pioneers to a Frozen Four appearance after posting back-to-back shutouts in the West Regional.

Larsson was a finalist for the NCHC goalie of the year award and was named to the NCHC All-Rookie Team.

The 6-foot-2 Larsson was a sixth-round pick (167th overall) of the Red Wings in 2016. He was the USHL Goaltender of the Year in 2018 during his time with the Tri City Storm.

Larsson joins Kaden Fulcher, Patrik Rybar and Harri Sateri as goaltenders currently in the Red Wings’ farm system.
