After a big weekend against his team’s main rival, Will Lockwood’s getting some extra attention from the Big Ten.

The University of Michigan forward has been named the B1G second star of the week after posting four points in the Wolverines’ weekend sweep of Michigan State.

Lockwood, a Bloomfield Hills native and junior forward for Mel Pearson’s club, scored the eventual game-winning goal and two assists in Friday’s 5-3 win in Ann Arbor.

The Oakland Jr. Grizzlies alum scored a power-play marker on Saturday in a 5-2 win during the ‘Duel in the D’ game at Little Caesars Arena, as well.

It’s Lockwood’s second career weekly award and first since Oct. 25, 2016.

The USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program alum and Vancouver Canucks draftee has 25 points in 29 games this season for the Wolverines.
