Jimmy Howard to represent Red Wings at 2019 NHL All-Star Game

The Detroit Red Wings will have one player at the upcoming 2019 NHL All-Star Game, and his name is Jimmy Howard.

The Wings’ goaltender has been selected as Hockeytown’s representative for the ASG and Skills Competition, which will take place Jan. 25-26 in San Jose.

Howard, a USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program alum, holds a 10-9-0-5 record on the season, with a 2.72 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.

The 34-year-old netminder has spent the entirety of his NHL career with the Red Wings after being drafted by the team in the second round of the 2003 Draft.

He also represented the Winged Wheel in the 2012 and 2015 NHL All-Star Games.
