The Detroit Red Wings held a 5-3 lead nearing the halfway point of the third period against the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night, but to the dismay of the fans at Little Caesars Arena, the home team ended up falling 6-5 in a shootout. Frans Nielsen recorded a hat trick for Detroit, while former Saginaw Spirit and Grand Rapids Griffins netminder Eddie Pasquale registered his first NHL win in his first NHL  game.
