Red Wings name Larkin, Nielsen new alternate captains, joining Abdelkader and Kronwall

Dylan Larkin’s getting his first taste of wearing a letter on his Red Wings jersey.

The Red Wings announced today that Larkin and Frans Nielsen will be the Wings’ new alternate captains; Nielsen on the road, Larkin at home.

The two join Justin Abdelkader and Niklas Kronwall as the leadership group wearing letters for Detroit this season. None of them, however, will be wearing the ‘C’ that used to appear on Henrik Zetterberg’s jersey.
