MSU’s Board of Trustees give green light on planning for Munn Ice Arena expansion

By @StefanKubus –

It appears Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing may be receiving its once-rumored renovations sooner than later.

In their Aug. 31 meeting, Michigan State University’s Board of Trustees gave officials the green light to begin planning a reported $14-16 million expansion of Munn Ice Arena.

Per the Lansing State Journal, the improvements are expected to include expanded and relocated hockey operations and coaching offices, as well as a new public entrance on the building’s south side.

In 2014, Munn Ice Arena received more than $6 million in renovations to add improved lighting and a high-definition scoreboard among other things.
