The United States Hockey League has announced its full schedule and teams participating in the 2018 USHL Fall Classic Youth Tournaments, and 14 squads will be representing the Great Lakes State at the event.

This year’s Fall Classic features the addition of 18U and 15U tournaments, bringing a total of 64 teams to the Pittsburgh area for elite competition.

Here are the Michigan teams invited:

14U Little Caesars (Matthews Division)

14U Honeybaked (Gaudreau Division)

15U Compuware (Matthews Division)

15U Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (Gaudreau Division)

16U Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (Matthews Division)

16U Little Caesars (Gaudreau Division)

18U Fox Motors (Gaudreau Division)

18U Belle Tire (Guentzel Division)

The teams will compete in group play, followed by semifinal games and ultimately a championship game to determine the 2018 USHL Fall Classic 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U Youth Tournament champions. Additionally, youth players will have complimentary access to all USHL games taking place at the Fall Classic.

Each team will play all three opponents in its group, collecting points based on wins, overtime wins and overtime losses. The top team in each group advances to the semifinals, while the other teams will compete in one last game for final standings. The semifinal winners will square off in the championship, while the remaining final standings 3-16 will then be determined by final points earned based upon records.

Games will be played at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex and Baierl Ice Complex in Cranberry Township; Printscape Arena at Southpointe in Canonsburg; and two other locations in Pittsburgh – the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center and the Alpha Ice Complex – from Sept. 27 through Oct. 1.
