Red Wings sign goaltender Patrik Rybar

The Detroit Red Wings announced today that they have welcomed another goaltender into the organization.

Patrik Rybar, a 24-year-old native of Skalica, Slovakia, has signed to a one-year deal with the Wings.

Rybar impressed with the HK Hradec Kralove of the Czech Extraliga (the top league in the Czech Republic) in 2017-18, posting a 23-13 record and a league-best 1.73 goals-against average and seven shutouts.

He was a member of the Slovakian Olympic Team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyongchang, as well as the 2018 IIHF World Championship in Denmark. At Worlds, he posted a 1-1 record, a 2.49 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.
