Team Copper Country wins 2018 USA Hockey 18U Tier 2 National Championship

Team Copper Country has successfully defended its crown as USA Hockey champions.

With a 5-1 victory today over the Wonderland Wizards in Green Bay, the members of Team Copper Country are the 2018 USA Hockey 18U Tier 2 (3A) National Champions.

Colton Salani, Dawson McKay, Brent Loukus, Teddy Randell and Brendan Erickson all scored in the title game for Team C.C., while Dawson Kero recorded the win between the pipes.

Team Copper Country is a MAHA split-season squad comprised mainly of high school hockey players from the Upper Peninsula.

Randell led the team in scoring with nine points over six games. McKay, Sam Erkkila and Joseph Phillips all tied for second with seven points apiece.

Kero and Nicholas Voelker split time between the pipes.
