Red Wings announce return of ‘Paint the Ice’ event on April 26

By @StefanKubus –

Last year, fans had the opportunity to paint the ice of Joe Louis Arena with a personal message or design in its final season.

Now, fans can do the same in the first year of Little Caesars Arena.

The Red Wings announced on Thursday that the second Paint the Ice event will take place on Thursday, April 26, starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. By making a donation to benefit the Detroit Red Wings Foundation online, fans can register for the event to reserve a time slot in the aforementioned window to stop by and paint a message on the ice. Paint and paintbrushes will be provided, and complimentary parking in the LCA garage is included with the donation.

“The Detroit Red Wings Foundation is excited to conclude the Inaugural Season at Little Caesars Arena with an event the entire family can enjoy,” said Kevin Brown, Director of Community Relations & Detroit Red Wings Foundation. “The Paint the Ice event provides a unique, family-friendly opportunity for fans of all ages to visit Little Caesars Arena, step out on the same ice surface as their favorite Red Wings players, and leave behind a painted message – all while supporting a great cause.”
