PHOTOS: NTDP wins first-ever USHL playoff game

USA Hockey Arena hosted its first-ever USHL playoff game Saturday night, as USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program played its first postseason game since moving to Plymouth. The ‘first-ever’ moments continued, too, as the NTDP recorded the first USHL playoff win in program history.

Cameron Rowe made 29 saves to record the shutout between the pipes, while Owen Lindmark, Drew Helleson and John Beecher scored for the NTDP to guide the Under-17 Team to a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Steel in Game 1 of the USHL’s Eastern Conference Semifinals.

“I thought the players came out hard at the beginning and most importantly weren’t intimidated by the stage,” head coach John Wroblewski said after the game.

The two teams square off at USA Hockey Arena Sunday afternoon; puck drops at 3 p.m.
