WCHA playoff field set

The 2018 men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association Postseason Tournament is ready to go.

Late Sunday, the college hockey conference announced the finalization of the playoff bracket, and three Michigan teams are left standing.

Northern Michigan will be the lone Michigan program hosting a first-round quarterfinal matchup. The Wildcats, under new coach Grant Potulny, hold the No. 2 seed in the conference, which means they will be taking on No. 7 Alabama Huntsville at the Berry Events Center in Marquette this weekend.

The best-of-three series kicks off on Friday at 7:07 p.m – same time for all three nights of the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, No. 6 Ferris State will kick things off at Bowling Green for a weekend series against the No. 3 Falcons, and No. 5 Michigan Tech will be at No. 4 Bemidji State.
