MSU, Aquinas women to play fundraiser game for families of Darian Locklear and Julianna Ward-Brown

The Michigan State and Aquinas College women’s D1 teams have turned a Sunday hockey game into a fundraising effort close to the hearts of many in the Michigan hockey community.

The two teams will be raising money for the families of Darian Locklear and Julianna Ward-Brown, the two Meijer 16U girls who passed away in a car accident on Feb. 7.

Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing for a game that starts at 1:50 p.m. There will be a 50/50, a raffle, a silent auction and a ‘chuck-a-puck’ event to raise money for both families and the newly-established Darian Locklear Hockey Scholarship Memorial Fund.

The teams are asking for spectators to make a $5 donation at the door, as well.
