Cole Gallant will be coming home soon.

The Hartland native and Omaha Lancers forward announced tonight that he has committed to Western Michigan.

“I chose Western Michigan because it is a great coaching staff and a great school in Michigan and it’s kind of close to home where I lived there,” Gallant told MiHockey.

The Little Caesars and Honeybaked alum – originally born in Florida – is in the midst of his third full season in the USHL. A 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward, Gallant has recorded 21 points in 23 games for the Lancers.

He said he’s excited for the opportunity to compete in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference when he gets his shot with Andy Murry’s club in Kalamazoo.

“It’s in one of the best leagues in college hockey that will help prepare me for the future after college,” Gallant said.
