It was a pretty good month of October for Mark Auk, and he’s picking up some new hardware because of it.

The Michigan Tech blueliner has been named the WCHA Defensive Player of the Month, after Auk led all conference defensemen with nine points and a +4 rating.

The St. Clair Shores native scored two goals and added seven assists for the Huskies, while also blocking 12 shots.

He was also named MVP at the 2017 Ice Breaker Tournament, helping MTU win the prestigious season-opening tournament.
