When Davis Pennington is done in Iowa, he will be heading to Nebraska.

The Saline native and Dubuque Fighting Saints draftee has verbally committed to Nebraska Omaha for his college hockey career.

“I picked UNO because of the great resources at Baxter Arena, the new coaching staff, and great business school they have there,” Pennington told MiHockey.

A Belle Tire product who is heading over to Honeybaked this fall, Pennington was selected by the Fighting Saints in the sixth round of the USHL Futures Draft this past spring.

The 2001 birth-year skater said he can’t wait to experience college hockey as a student-athlete.

“I love college hockey because of the amazing atmosphere and also getting a great education well playing the game I love,” Pennington said. “It’s the perfect mix at UNO and the city and everything else couldn’t have been better anywhere else.”
