The Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League has announced a new member.

Grosse Pointe South will be joining the MIHL for the upcoming high school hockey season, joining De La Salle, Grosse Pointe North, Trenton and U of D Jesuit in the conference’s South Division.

“We are looking forward to playing in the MIHL,” said GPS head coachBobby McKillop, entering his sixth season. “We know that we can be competitive but we also know that there are no easy games in the MIHL. Just look at their success, you don’t improve playing against easy competition.”

Last year, the Blue Devils finished 21-4-1, and McKillop was named the Division 2 Coach of the Year.
