Turns out, the Red Wings weren’t done.

After signing defensemen Trevor Daley and Luke Witkowski, Detroit has announced that they have signed center Turner Elson to a one-year contract.

A 24-year-old native of New Westminster, B.C., has been playing in primarily the AHL since 2011 after playing for the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL.

Listed at 6-foot-0 and 195 pounds, it looks like Elson isn’t afraid of ‘mixing it up’ – he recorded 124 penalty minutes in 2010-11 WHL play.

He posted back-to-back 30-point seasons in the AHL in 2014-15 and 2015-16 wit hteh Adirondack Flames and Stockton Heat, respectively.
