The reigning Mr. Hockey winner has a new future home.

Brighton’s Jake Crespi, a ’98 birth-year player, has decided to switch from Lake Superior State to Michigan Tech.

“I decided to start looking at other schools because I felt I rushed into a decision and didn’t have time to weigh out other options,” Crespi told MiHockey. “I went on a visit to Tech and fell in love as soon as I walked into the locker room, the facilities are gorgeous there.”

Crespi was a second-round pick of the Tri-City Storm in this summer’s USHL Draft; he is expected to play one season of juniors before heading to Houghton.

“To go along with great facilities they have some of the craziest hockey fans in the country, the tradition and the culture of MTU makes playing there extremely exciting and offers the greatest college hockey experience for me,” Crespi said.

The Brighton native recorded 59 points in 31 games this season, leading his Bulldogs to a Division 1 state title.
