Northville native Jack Studnicka is shipping out to Boston.

The Bruins used the 53rd pick in the NHL Draft – a pick acquired by trade with the Edmonton Oilers – to claim Studnicka, a standout forward with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.

Ranked the No. 120 skater by NHL Central Scouting, he certainly caught the attention of the Bruins organization during their scouting sessions. His 52 points in 64 games with the Generals this past season probably didn’t hurt.

A dual-citizen, Studnicka has played for Team Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the IIHF Under-18 World Championship.

During bantams and midgets, Studnicka played for Compuware and Belle Tire.
