United Cerebal Palsy of Detroit and the Detroit Red Wings alumni are teaming up once again for their annual charity game.

The game, themed “Skate Without Limits,” is set for Saturday, March 25 at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Ice Arena.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with a sled hockey game featuring the Michigan Sled Dogs at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., the UCP Pucksters will face the Red Wings alumni.

Mike Ward is the UCP/Detroit chairman and is team manager for the Michigan Youth Sled Hockey team,  a small budding team of just eight full-time players. A few of those kids will be playing in the sled hockey game.

“In the past 16 years, this event has raised more than $300,000 to assist individuals with disabilities,” said UCP/Detroit chairman Mike Ward. “We’re looking forward to the event, and we’re thrilled to have the Red Wings alumni on board to help support UCP/Detroit and raise awareness.”

A silent auction will be held at the event, along with a 50-50 drawing, Chuck-A-Puck and pizza afterglow where fans can meet and greet some of the former Red Wings. Among the numerous auction items are tickets to see a Red Wings game next season inside Little Caesars Arena, tickets for Wings games this season, signed Red Wings pucks and much more.

The Red Wings alumni roster is expected to be finalized closer to the March 25 game date.

Tickets are $10 per person or $30 for a family of up to five members. Kids ages five and under are free. The pizza afterglow is an additional $10 donation.
