It looks like Jimmy Howard is ready to return to the Red Wings’ line-up.

The Wings’ goaltender has been officially summoned to Detroit after a conditioning stint in Grand Rapids, while his replacement, Jared Coreau, has been returned to the Griffins.

Detroit announced today that they have removed Howard from the team’s injured reserve list. Howard has not played in an NHL game since a MCL sprain sidelined him on Dec. 20.

He also re-aggravated his injury during a conditioning stint in Grand Rapids during the first week of February.

In 17 games this season, he holds a 5-7-0-1 record with a 1.96 goals-against average, a .934 save percentage and one shutout.

Coreau’s lengthy call-up will conclude with a 5-4-0-3 record, a 3.46 goals-against average, .887 save percentage and two shutouts.
