It may have already hit its fundraising goal, but we’re sharing this anyways.

Check out this awesome Kickstarter campaign to make a documentary about Clark Park.

Created by Troy Anderson, a volunteer coach and staff member of the Clark Park Coalition, with friend Steven Stark, the film, “Clark Park: A Detroit Story” highlights the work put in for Detroit’s lone outdoor rink and the patrons, both young and old.

As Anderson describes on the Kickstarter campaign:

For the last two-plus years I’ve been documenting the history, people, and impact of the Clark Park ice rink in Southwest Detroit. The rink is operated by the Clark Park Coalition, a non-profit organization that saved the park from closure in the early 1990’s. Clark Park is home to one of only two remaining youth hockey programs in the City of Detroit, and the only remaining full-regulation outdoor rink. Many of the kids who grow up playing hockey at Clark Park are first generation Americans and/or inner city youth  who would not have access to the game if not for the Park. This film will tell you the story of how the rink has impacted the lives of southwest Detroiters, from youth to elders, as well as the history behind Hockeytown’s only full-regulation outdoor ice rink. The end-goal for this project is to use this short documentary to raise awareness and funds for the Clark Park Coalition and promote their goal of serving southwest Detroit youth and their families.
