Zach Nagelvoort pitched a shutout against the hated Buckeyes on Saturday, and in doing so, earned first star of the week honors from the Big Ten.

The senior goaltender for the Michigan Wolverines stopped 42 shots in afternoon affair with Ohio State in Columbus, leading his team to a 1-0 victory against a main rival.

Thirty-one of those 42 saves came in the final 40 minutes of play, as Nagelvoort held off the Buckeyes time and time again.

On the season, Nagelvoort – a Holland, Mich., native and Edmonton Oilers draftee – now holds a 4-5-1 record, a 3.03 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.

It’s the seventh B1G weekly award for Nagelvoort.

Meanwhile, Holly, Mich., native Jack Berry, a freshman goaltender for the Wisconsin Badgers, was named the B1G’s third star.

Berry tied a career-best mark with 36 saves in a 3-2 victory at No. 4 Minnesota Friday night.

It’s his first B1G weekly award.
