Six Michigan names up for Hobey Baker fan voting

The Hobey Baker committee released their list of players for fans to vote on today – the first step in annually picking college hockey’s best player.

Check out the Michigan names who are eligible for voting for hockey’s Heisman Trophy.

Matheson Iacopelli – Western Michigan – Brownstown native

Iacopelli, a Muskegon Lumberjacks alum, has 15 goals and seven assists so far in his sophomore season with the Western Michigan Broncos.

 

Will Lockwood – Michigan – Bloomfield Hills native

The Wolverines’ freshman forward – a USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program alum – is second on his team in scoring with 13 points in 20 games.

 

Gerald Mayhew – Ferris State – Wyandotte native

Mayhew, a senior for Bob Daniels’ Bulldogs, leads FSU with 26 points in 25 games this year.

 

Nick Schilkey – Ohio State – Marysville native

Schilkey, a Green Bay Gamblers product, has 25 points in his first 20 games as a senior forward for the Buckeyes.

 

Charles Williams – Canisius – Canton native

A transfer to Canisius has paid dividends for Williams, who holds a 13-6-3 record with a 1.87 goals-against average and .946 save percentage this season with the Golden Griffins.

 

Angus Redmond – Michigan Tech

The freshman goaltender nicknamed “Beef” has beefed up Michigan Tech’s points total this season; Redmond currently holds a 15-4-5 record with a 1.61 save percentage and a .927 save percentage.
