The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that winger Bobby Kaiser has committed to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Kaiser, a native of Grosse Pointe Park, is in the midst of his second USHL campaign, after splitting last season with the Tri-City Storm and Muskegon. This year, he has played in 27 games with the ‘Jacks, and recorded 25 penalty minutes while playing a power forward and penalty-killer role.

“I’m excited to announce my commitment to UMass,” Kaiser said in a release. “The program is a great spot for my style of play. Coach Carvel and his staff are continuing to build a great, high-character team and I’m excited to be a part of it. The facilities and campus are awesome, and I loved the town when I visited. It is a great opportunity and I am looking forward to playing there.”

Kaiser will be joining teamates Anthony and Marc Del Gaizo for his college experience.

“We are always excited for our players when they receive Division 1 opportunities,” said Muskegon coach John LaFontaine. “This is a great commitment for Bobby. He is very appreciative and thankful for the chance to play for the Minutemen.”
