Red Wings recall Nick Jensen, place Alexey Marchenko on seven-day IR

More injury news for the Red Wings.

The team announced today that they have called up Nick Jensen from the Grand Rapids Griffins to fill in for Alexey Marchenko, who has been put on seven-day injured reserve.

Jensen, 26, has played in all 27 games for the Griffins this season, recording six points, six penalty minutes and a team-best +8 rating. The 6-foot, 200-pound defenseman is in his fourth professional season.

He spent three seasons at St. Cloud State University of the WCHA and recorded 86 points in 118 games.

Marchenko has five points in 22 games, along with a -1 rating.
