Western Michigan native Matheson Iacopelli has claimed his second National Collegiate Hockey Conference Bauer Offensive Player of the Week award, thanks to a strong showing against Air Force over the weekend.

Iacopelli, a Brownstown native, racked up four points as the Broncos tied and beat the Falcons.

In Friday’s 5-5 tie, the Muskegon Lumberjacks alum recorded two assists on the first two goals of the game for Western, along with firing six shots on goal.

On Saturday, Iacopelli scored twice, recording his fourth multi-goal game of the season, to first break a 1-1 tie in the second, and then add an insurance goal in the third.

A Chicago Blackhawks draftee, Iacopelli is tied for second in all of the NCAA with 12 goals this season.
