Tyler Bertuzzi must be getting pretty familiar with that drive between Detroit and Grand Rapids.

One day after being assigned back to the Griffins, the Red Wings have recalled the 21-year-old forward once again – due to the Darren Helm injury.

The drive wasn’t a waste for Bertuzzi; he scored a goal and added an assist in the Griffins’ 6-3 win over the Texas Stars tonight.

Bertuzzi was originally called up on Nov. 7, and he played in three games for the Wings during his stay.

He failed to record any points in his games against Philadelphia (Nov. 8), Vancouver (Nov. 10) and Montreal (Nov. 12).

The native of Sudbury, Ont., had two goals and two assists for four points in nine games with the Griffins before his call-up.

Last year, Bertuzzi – the Wings’ 58th overall pick in the 2013 Draft – recorded 30 points in 71 games in his first professional season in Grand Rapids.
