USA Hockey to stage first-ever “Hockey Week Across America”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hockey Weekend Across America, USA Hockey is holding their first-ever “Hockey Week Across America” next February.

From Feb. 20-26, 2017, USA Hockey will celebrate the sport across an entire week, instead of just the usual Friday-Sunday festivities.

“We’re excited to expand Hockey Weekend Across America to an entire week for the 10th anniversary of the event,” said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey, in a release. “From youth hockey through the NHL, we have a lot to be celebrate, and we look forward to the engagement of the entire hockey community this February in showcasing our sport.”

Hockey Week Across America will still include the themed days of ‘Wear Your Favorite Jersey Day’ (on Friday), Try Hockey Day (on Saturday) and Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes (on Sunday). The week will also include NBC’s Hockey Day in America, along with an NHL Stadium Series game. More details will be unveiled in the coming months.
