Red Wings sign Tomas Nosek to two-year extension

The Detroit Red Wings announced today that they have re-signed one of their prospects.

The Original Six franchise has inked Tomas Nosek to a two-year contract extension, locking up the native of Pardubice, Czech Republic who has spent the majority of his time with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Detroit originally signed Nosek as an unrestricted free agent in 2014.

This past season, Nosek, 23, recorded 30 points in 70 games with the Griffins. He made his NHL debut with the Red Wings on Dec. 26 in Nashville, and played in six total NHL contests in the 2015-16 season.

Over the past two seasons, Nosek has recorded 64 points and a plus-43 rating in 125 games with Grand Rapids.
